Friday!!! 06/25/2010

Well today started out leaving from home and meeting another worker at a foster home near my house. So far so good huh? Well God love this foster mother and her family because if you or I were the foster parents we would have told the county agency to take these children back. There are 4 children ranging in age of 7 yrs-18 months and the oldest three are pure hellions!!! There are sexualized behaviors, smearing feces, trying to choke the baby, cussing at the foster parent, screaming bloody murder, trying to hurt a 4 month old, trying to burn the baby, and so on all while the foster parent tries to watch them all and still take care of all the things a mother does everyday. Whew, not me thank you. These children have probably been sexually, physically abused and neglected their entire childhood. Can you imagine? Then we take them from their biological home where they have witnessed domestic violence all their lives and put them with people they do not even know! I don't know about you but if I were those children I would not understand what in the world was going on. Now as I have told you I cannot reveal any confidential information but if I could you would want to go do something to the parents. Some days I see these children and teens and then the parents and want to strangle the parents. I, of course, would never do anything like that, but the thought crosses my mind sometimes. I also told you I have been doing this for almost 10 years but some days I wonder why! Thanks for reading.

Hello everyone glad you can make it!! I am going to try this blog thing out but I am not promising I will post everyday but I WILL try very hard to do so and be entertaining. I have been a social worker at children's services for almost 10 years. I will not give out any identifying information (confidentialityand all you know) but I will try to give you an idea what we deal with everyday. So enjoy, hang on, and don't mind the off humor. Thanks
